  • How do I place an order? First step is to contact us and we will send you a quote for the table based on the design and size you are requesting. Once the quote is accepted, we ask for a 50% non-refundable down payment to place your order.

  • How long will it take to build my order? 4-6 weeks depending on design complexity and wood type.

  • How many chairs can I fit at my dining table? Please see below guidelines- the width of the chairs and the design of the table legs will impact how many chairs you can fit under your table!

    5 - 6 FT: 4-6 Chairs (Two on Sides & 1 on Each End)
    6.5 - 7.5 FT: 6-8 Chairs (Three on Sides & 1 on Each End)
    8 - 10 FT: 8-10 Chairs (Four on Sides & 1 on Each End)

  • What are the standard dining table dimensions? 31"H x 36"W is standard but can be customized!

  • Do you deliver? Yes within the local area of Omaha for a fee of $50-$75 depending on the size of the piece.

  • What wood options can I choose from? All Dining Table Tops will be made with kiln-dried hardwoods such as Ash, Oak, or Walnut. Rustic Craftsman will no longer be building or providing pricing on dining tables made from store bought pine. We have found that pine just doesn't hold up over time since it is a softer wood and expands and contracts with weather changes. While pine is less expensive and a reasonable option for "do-it-yourselfers" it isn't the quality of wood we want to give our clients. Our goal is to give you a table that is not only beautiful but durable for years to come!

  • Do I need to seal my table? Absolutely not! We seal all of our tables with 3-4 coats of a highly durable poly clear coat. When sealed, the tables will be water resistant but not impervious to standing water, heat, or knife cuts. We recommend using coasters to protect your table from standing water and pot holders to protect from heat.

  • What should I use to clean my table? You can clean your table with a damp rag after it has been cured. If your surface requires deep cleaning we recommend to add a speck of detergent or vinegar to a damp rag or you can use Clorox Wipes. Avoid using oil-soap or silicone-based daily cleaners such as Pledge, Endust or Murphy's Oil.

  • Can I use a custom stain or paint I already have in my home? Yes of course! We just ask you provide the stain color formula or if you have extra on hand we can use that too!

  • Can I see the stain samples in person? Yes, you are welcome to come to our shop to see stain samples on the selected table wood. You can even borrow the samples to bring home to see them in your own lighting.

  • What if I don't like the stain color after my piece has been stained? Tables can not be re-stained (easily) after it is sealed. This is important and why we make sure you see a stain sample before we stain your piece. If you end up not liking the stain and the table is already sealed the only option we provide is to paint over it at an additional fee.

  • What is your return & exchange policy? When ordering from Rustic Craftsman please keep in mind we are using real wood on all our items. It should be known that real wood has real beautiful and organic characteristics. We hand-select every single board that is put into use on our builds. Each board has its own natural characteristics; including, but not limited to: SPLITS, KNOTS, WOODGRAIN AND OTHER NATURAL MARKINGS. We embrace all of the wood’s natural characteristics and this, to us, is the very definition of authentic rustic home decor.

We prep all of our wood by using Kiln dried boards, tracking moisture content with a moisture reader and finish by planing, jointing and sanding the surface. We put countless hours and limitless effort into properly prepping and jointing the wood we use, however wood is again a NATURAL material and is constantly moving with temperature and humidity. During changing seasons the wood can contract and expand, causing slight movement and may develop small cracks and cup or bow over time. Again, we believe this only enhances the table’s rustic, and unique character.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges if any of these natural occurrences take place once items are delivered.

We have a home full of our own rustic furniture and we embrace every piece. We hope you can too!
